Vakító napfény nehezíti a munkát, a tennivalók listáján gumimedence beszerzése, rövidujju ingek szortírozása és koktél-összetevők felhalmozása szerepel a heti jelentések, prezentációk elkészítése és a “teljesítsünk a fizetésünkért” helyett. Nem tellett sok időbe, hogy kiszakadjak a laptop mellől, dél körül már a metrón ültem, úton a belvárosba.
Persze azt kihagytam a számításból, hogy a tiszta kis parkon átsétálva még nem, de a korzón elindulva alig 50 méterre lesz szükségem, hogy a hosszúnadrág és ing kombó forráspontig tolja az agyamat, utolsó működő impulzusként felégetve a falra az üzenetet: itt a rövid szezonja. Az árkádok alatti árnyékban tovább is vonszoltam magam, ügyesen elugorva a két nővérkés felszerelésbe öltözött hostess elől (abban az állapotban a meleg és a jelmez bármit eladott volna nekem) és megpihenve a vízpermetet toló ventillátorok alatt.
Aztán persze a Dóm-tér. Hatalmas, monumentális síkság. Tűző napsütés. Árnyék niente. Azt hittem soha nem érek át a túloldalra, de amikor utolsó erőmmel behúzódtam a Mondadori elé, már éreztem, az életem nem lesz soha a régi. Nyár van.
