Mint ahogy a borukra, a nyelvükre is hihetetlenül büszkék az olaszok, olyannyira, hogy van aki meg sem szólal idegen nyelven, még akkor sem, ha beszéli. Jártam így Cesenatico környékén a némettel, de jártam így Milánóban is az angollal.
Csak amikor már minden kötél szakadt – és megbizonyosodtak arról hogy kommunikáció bizony részemről olaszul nem lehetséges egyszerűen a szavak ismeretének hiánya miatt -, szólaltak meg idegen nyelven mindkét esetben.
Be kell ismerni viszont, hogy itt-ott találkozni egy-két alannyal, aki szívesen „fitogtatja” angol tudását, – és le a kalappal azok előtt, akik próbálkoznak, – mégis a mai napig nem sikerült megértenem, hogy mi az oka annak, hogy a többség „vicces akcentussal” és nyelvtani helytelenséggel beszél.
Mindig azt gondoltam, hogy az olaszoknak sokkal könnyebb dolguk van mint például nekünk magyaroknak, már csak a sok latin eredetű szó miatt is. Viszont az is jó kérdés, hogy vajon a mi angol nyelvhasználatunkról hogyan vélekednek más nemzetek?
