Már régóta tervezek írni egy bejegyzést a flow-ról. A flow nem más ugyanis, mint “életöröm a köbön” és teljes mértékben meghatározza az életfilozófiámat. Azt már nem tudom, hogy vajon Csíkszentmihályi Mihály: Flow című könyve volt hatással rám vagy éppen azért olvastam el, mert annyira passzol a személyes hitvallásomhoz.
A flow (vagyis áramlat), a boldogság folyamatát írja le. Mi is valójában a boldogság és mi a boldogsághoz vezető út? Minden ember számára mást jelent. Az elérése pedig annyira egyszerű (lehetne), csak hajlamosak vagyunk nem tudomást venni róla és mások által állított ideálokat kergetni inkább. Az általános kép az, hogy a boldog embernek felelősségteljes, magas beosztású állása, sok pénze van, egzotikus helyekre utazgat és gyönyörű felesége/férje van.
Nos, nekem mindez megvan. Legalábbis én így érzem. Akkor is, ha nem vagyok nagy menedzser, másoknak jobb kocsijuk, nagyobb házuk van, Bali-ra és Hawaii-ra járnak nyaralni. De akkor is így éreztem, amikor Ambyval összeköltözésünkkör az összes alapvető bútort (ágy és szekrény), hűtőt és mosógépet hitelből tudtuk csak megvenni, hónapokig konzerven éltünk és a legluxusabb utazásunk Harkányban volt. Igen, hihetetlenül sikeresnek éreztem magam, hiszen elismerték az akkori (adminisztrátori) munkámat és fizetésemelést kaptam, így kettőnk fizetésére kaptunk hitelt, és tudtam, hogy meghódítottam a szerelmem szívét, akivel együtt töltöthettünk egy hosszú hétvégét távol a mindennapoktól. Azóta persze nagy utat tettünk meg.
Olyan ez, mint a MIchael Ende Végtelen történetében a Déli Jósdához vezető harmadik kapu: akkor nyílik ki, amikor az ember nem akar mindenáron átmenni rajta. A titok, hogy amikor éppen nem az ideálokat kergetjük, hanem megelégszünk azzal, amit a sors osztott nekünk és megpróbáljuk abból kihozni, a legtöbbet, amit lehet, akkor kezdünk sikeresek lenni és jönnek új lehetőségek.
Persze mindekinek van álma, kell, hogy legyen álma. A kapott a lehetőségeket azonban észre kell venni, akármilyen picik is. Ha nem vagyunk nyitottak a világra, akkor szépen elsétálunk mellettük, mert nem elég nagyok, nem pont olyanok, mint amilyeneket megálmodtunk, esetleg fel kellene adnunk valamit érte. Persze minden út egyetlen első lépéssel kezdődik. Nagy igazság. Csak aztán nem szabad elfelejtenünk tovább lépkedni. Hogy hogyan alakul az életünk, az attól függ, hogy megtesszük-e ezeket a lépéseket és milyen mindennapi döntéseket hozunk. Az élet kemény munka az első lépéstől az utolsóig. Ha csak állunk és várjuk, hogy érkezzen a siker, pénz, szerelem és egyéb vágyott dolgok, mert az “nekünk jár”, akkor bizony jó sokáig várakozhatunk és közben bosszankodhatunk, hibáztathatjuk a munkaadónkat, a főnökünket, a családunkat, a barátainkat, a kormányt, a globalizációt, az időjárást, a sorsot stb. És a boldogság nem fog jönni. Az általános tévedés abban van, hogy akkor érjük el a boldogságot, amikor végre beteljesítettük az álmunkat. És addig boldogtalannak kéne lennünk? Dehogy. A boldogság ugyanis éppen ezekben a pici sikerekben rejlik, amikor egy-egy lépést megteszünk. Ha az ember felismeri, hogy mennyi mindent elért már, milyen akadályokat volt képes legyőzni, akkor biztosíthatja magának a folyamatos flow-t.
Persze vannak szerencsések, akik jó helyre születtek vagy valóban egyszerűen eléri őket a szerencse. Vannak pedig olyanok, akiket nehezebb körülményekkel áldott meg az élet. A boldogság azonban éppen egyforma távolságra van tőlük. Itt van például Ujlakas. “Milyen szerencsétlen!” – gondolhatják sokan. Ő mégsem így érzi. Elfogadja, amit kapott a sorstól és abból kovácsol magának “életöröm a köbön”-t. Boldog? Igen, szerintem az. Csodálatra méltó? Igen, szerintem az. Ahogy minden ember csodálatra méltó, aki megtalálja a maga útját, függetlenül attól, hogy milyen körülmények között teszi ezt meg.
Hogy kit mi tesz boldoggá, az teljesen különböző és ez így is van jól. Van akinek a hatalom adja meg az elégedettséget, van akinek a családja, van akinek az, hogy elismerik a szakmai hozzáértését, van akinek a művészet, létrehozni valami újat, van akinek a barátok, van akinek a másik nem meghódítása, van akinek az, hogy bármikor azt csinálhat, amit akar. Egyik sem jobb vagy rosszabb a másiknál. Egyetlen dolog fontos, tisztában lenni azzal, hogy számunkra melyek ezek. Bizony egyik dolog (pl. sok pénz keresése) akadálya lehet valami másnak (pl. több időt tölteni a családdal), ezért kell felállítani a saját prioritásainkat. Azt is el kell fogadnunk, hogy az élet folyamán az értékek és a fontossági sorrend változik. Időnként a külső körülmények is arra kényszerítenek minket, hogy átmenetileg lemondjunk arról, ami a számunkra legfontosabb. Azonban minden helyzetből tudnunk kell tanulni és ha azt elfogadjuk, akkor a saját javunkra tudjuk fordítani, mely az álmunk felé vezet.
Bármilyen munkát végzel, abban sikeres leszel, ha szereted csinálni. Márpedig csak te magad tudsz gondoskodni arról, hogy abban legyen megfelelő kihívás számodra, és sikerélményeid legyenek. Csíkszentmihályi Mihály példának hozott erre egy évtizedek óta gyártósoron dolgozó munkást. Ő azzal tette élvezetessé a napi 8 órányi egyszerű munkát, hogy versenybe állt saját magával. Lemérte, hogy adott darabot mennyi idő tud összeszerelni és kitűzött magának egy célt, hogy mennyit fog rövidíteni ezen az időn. Ehhez pedig a saját munkafolyamatán kellett jobbítania. Amikor azt elérte, akkor újabb célt tűzött ki magának. Persze erre a főnöke is felfigyelt, és kivívta a többiek elismerését is.
A boldogság az, ha saját magad állítasz kihívásokat, és örülni tudsz annak, ha ezeket legyőzted. Senki más nem adhatja ezt meg neked. A boldogság elfogadás és saját magunk örök fejlesztése.
