Még az útikönyvünkben olvastuk, hogy egy időben Nápoly is vetekedett Rómával a főváros címéért. Kikérdeztem hát az olaszaimat, hogy is volt ez… Az ő ismereteik szerint először volt Torino a főváros (ekkor még Róma nem is volt része Olaszországnak, csak tíz évvel később), majd Firenze is. Ezek után lett Róma, földrajzi fekvése miatt (no meg szerintem a Vatikán csak így ment bele a dealbe). Nápolyról nem is hallottak :-)

Nápoly egészen 1870-ig (Olaszország egyesítése-Garibaldi) a “Regno delle due Sicilie” (Campania, Basilicata, Puglia, Calabria, Sicilia) fővárosa volt.
