Még tavasszal ajánlgatták olasz ismerősök az Eragon című
könyvet Christopher Paolinitől. Otthon még nem lehetett semmi hallani
róla, így angolul szereztük be a Nyugati környékén az első részt.
A könyvet pár nap alatt olvastuk ki mind a ketten, a történet elvarázsol, magával ragad és messzire repít. A sztori nagyjából arról szól, hogy egy kis faluban élő fiatal fiú hogyan talál (nem is annyira véletlenül) egy sárkánytojást, hogyan kezd el ismerkedni a bébisárkánnyal, majd kerül egyre inkább az események körforgásának közepébe. Kiderül, hogy egy történelmi örökség részévé vált azzal, hogy számára bújt elő a sárkány és számtalan új támogatót, de ellenséget is talál az utazása alatt, ahogy a falutól egyre messzebre sodorják a fordulatok.
Hihetetlen, hogy mennyire jól fel van építve a könyv – lévén Harry Potter rajongó – engem eléggé emlékeztet HP helyzetére, a képességek felismerésének menetére, majd a régi történetek előkerülésére. Hasonlóan harcol Eragon is az ellen, hogy belecsöppent egy szerepbe, eleinte inkább csak sodródik az eseményekkel és az első könyv végére is csak ösztönösen érzi, hogy mit kell tennie. (Láttam, hogy van előzetese a megjelenő filmnek, öntudatosabbnak tűnik ott, mint ahogy a könyvben meg van írva.) A mesevilág viszont erőteljesen Gyűrük Ura érzetű, beleértve a térképeket, a kiejtés-szótárat és a Tolkienre hajazó nyelvteremtési kísérleteket.
Lelőni nem szeretném a részleteket, talán majd egy külön bejegyzésben – mindenesetre csak a második könyv (angolul Eldest) elolvasása után derült ki, hogy Paolini 15 évesen kezdte el írni az Eragont és 19 évesen kezdték el promóciózni. A második könyvet 21 évesen fejezte be, a trilógia harmadik részét jövőre fejezi be. Ezek után még nagyobb tisztelettel és rácsodálkozással szemléltük a könyveket – a harmadik rész pont jó lesz arra, hogy kihúzzuk vele az utolsó Harry Potterig ;)
Minden korosztálynak ajánlott (pl. anyukám is nagy élvezettel olvassa), amolyan mese nem-csak-felnőtteknek.
Kicsit tartok ugyan a filmtől – mint mindig, amikor egy jó könyből filmet csinálnak -, de persze, hogy megnézzük otthon karácsonykor! Ki akar jönni?
